My Silent Refuge: An Observation during Meditation

My Silent Refuge Mind Frame Shift anddnasci.wordpress.com Tanzelle Oberholster

The rain patters against my shell.

A distant roar of thunder reverberates against my shield.

My breath rises and falls to the ebb and flow of my mind.

Another crash of waves on my shore.

The sea of chatter pulls away once more.

Don’t indulge the nagging, let it through – in by the front door, out by the back.

Don’t serve the whispers tea, let them be.

Falling back into the silence, dust settling around my sanctum.

Another breath. Rise. Fall. Ebb and flow.

An inner sanctuary, solely mine, accessible anytime.

Truths only understood during my brief moments in silence.

Dear Narcissist: I’ll take My Happiness and Go Tanzelle Oberholster Mind Frame Shift anddnasci.wordpress.com

In a world of black and white, where anything anyone does is wrong and only you are right.

From your subjective deluded perspective you have but one objective.

Spite, vengeance and scorn swirl within your heart’s storm.

Always having the last word and endlessly casting blame.

All an attempt to gain your rightful empty fame.

An endless spiral of self-destruction until tatters of every soul remains.

I endured.

I reject your words of false accusation and unfounded lies.

I cast you from my life and reclaim happiness as my prize.

For you despise yourself more, than anyone else.

No piece of writing is worthy of destruction – yes, it may be cringe worthy, but half-formed ideas hide between the bad grammar and spelling mistakes. These precious little insights will be nourished when the water of the muses flow. Crumbs of inspiration quickly transform into beautifully composed pieces. Never throw away any article of writing you felt compelled to manifest. Place the offensive piece of ink on paper in a dark drawer if you must. Let it grow there, like a fungus. Soon there will come a time when these little writer’s blights will provide the antidote to writer’s block.

Writing Journal of a Scientist: Whose Drabble Is It Anyway?

Whose Drabble is it anyway? Tanzelle Oberholster aRtVerse art-verse.com

A fitting lighthearted post to start the new year. A drabble is a 100-word writing piece, which explains a concept fully. So, for my own amusement I decided to take up the challenge, maybe even dabble in a bit of drabble more regularly on this blog. Drabbling is quite appealing to me, because I think that we take ourselves far too seriously at times, trying to communicate ideas over tediously long-winded articles. Perhaps we should remain focused on the matter at hand, only relying on the concept itself in order to fully preserve the essence of our message, and cause.

PS: WordPress doesn’t even recognise Drabble as an actual word! My First Blog Post (A Writing Sample from the Journal of a Scientists) was just short (or long) of being a Drabble as well, only 25 words over the limit!
