I have recently decided to improve my art & design skills through some Udemy online courses for my own personal development and amusement.
During these courses they give you little side projects to practice various design theories and techniques. The current course I have recently completed “The Complete Graphic Design Theory for Beginners Course created by Lindsay Marsh and Jeremy Deighan”. Jeremy showed how to create mood boards in the colour theory section using both Canva and Adobe free web tools. Other Free Mood Boards include: Cacti Spirals, Mandala Dragonfly, Sunset Dreamcatcher, Flower Data Art, Horses, Duotone Graphic Design, Big Cats and Vibrant Fish.

Mood boards are color palettes generated from images, such as a seascape photo or flower artwork, for design inspiration and coordinated themes.
Both Canva and Adobe have free online colour palette generators, which can extract colours from images.
My second mood board series is created from a photograph of a vibrant pink and yellow Dahlia captured by Whisker Flowers available for free download from Pixabay.

Both the Canva and Adobe tools auto-detect the colors, Canva generates a “quick and dirty” palette, whereas the Adobe tool provides far more choice and customisation of the selected palette.
Mood Boards
Here are the results of my first mood board experiments, each has a slightly different set of colours – I like the Adobe Colorful one the most 🥰. The colour palettes were generated with Canva Color Palette Generator and Adobe Color Wheel, whereas the mood boards where generated in Canva – Design Anything – Referral link, join for free and start designing to earn up to 20 credits for premium images!
